The VSC7424 is the industry’s first fully integrated 10-port Gigabit Ethernet (GE) switch chip from Microchip, incorporating eight copper PHYs and an embedded 416 MHz CPU within a single package to enable comprehensive management of the switch. Based on 65 nm SimpliPHY™ process technology, this chip is one of the most cost-effective and lowest-power switch devices in the industry.
Designed for small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) Ethernet switching applications, the VSC7424 offers a rich set of Layer 2 forwarding features and supports advanced TCAM-based VLAN and QoS processing, enabling the delivery of differentiated services. Frame processing via the TCAM-based Versatile Content-Aware Processor (VCAP-II) effectively ensures network security.

The chip fully supports the IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet standard and incorporates ActiPHY™ automatic power regulation and PerfectReach™ intelligent cable length detection technology.
